Kimberly S. Holt
Church Organist | (843) 249-2312 | oceandrive@odpc.org
Born in Conway, SC, Kim was heavily involved in the music programs of her church and high school. She received a B.A. in Music with emphasis in Piano, Organ, Theatre and Choral Conducting from USC – Coastal. While leading music on a spiritual retreat, God spoke and called her into music ministry.
She received a M.A. in Church Music from Asbury Theological Seminary in Choral Conducting, Organ and Handbells and graduated ATS in 1995. Kim was consecrated a Diaconal Minister of Music in the United Methodist Church on May 28, 1996 and served as full-time Minister of Music for First United Methodist Church in Conway, SC for over nine years. She served for 11 ½ years as full-time Director of Music Ministries for Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Garden City, SC. Kim served First Baptist of Conway as accompanist, organist and handbell conductor. There she led the restoration of the pipe organ and hand bells.
Kim has been a music teacher at Conway Christian School since fall of 2019 and instructs hand chimes, hand bells and directs the Elementary Ensemble. In fall of 2019, she joined the staff of ODPC as church organist and choir accompanist.
It is her philosophy to strive for excellence in music which gives glory to God, most especially through great choral music, hand bells, orchestra, and standing firm for hymnody and classical music. As a church musician there is no greater joy than to offer music which supports the spoken Word of God.
